A leading European Tier 1 contractor delivering large-scale hyperscale data centre campuses is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager / Procurement Lead to take ownership of procurement strategy and delivery on a flagship mission-critical project in Sines.

This organisation specialises in the delivery of complex, high-value data centre and advanced technology projects across Europe. With a strong pipeline of hyperscale developments and long-term client frameworks in place, this role offers stability, senior-level influence, and clear progression within a rapidly growing business.

As Senior Procurement Manager, you will lead all procurement activities across MEP, CSA, and specialist data centre packages, ensuring materials, equipment, and subcontract services are secured in line with programme, cost, and quality requirements. You will work closely with project directors, commercial teams, engineering, and construction leadership to support seamless project execution.

This is a senior, site-based role with strategic responsibility on a high-profile campus project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement the project procurement strategy aligned with programme and commercial objectives
  • Manage procurement of major CSA, MEP, and specialist mission-critical packages
  • Oversee supplier and subcontractor prequalification, tendering, evaluation, and appointment
  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules
  • Manage long-lead items critical to data centre delivery (switchgear, generators, UPS, chillers, etc.)
  • Coordinate closely with engineering and construction teams to align procurement with design development and construction sequencing
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal governance, compliance, and audit requirements
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and contractual obligations
  • Identify procurement risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Support value engineering, cost certainty, and supply chain optimisation
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to site and regional procurement team members
  • Report procurement status, risks, and progress to senior project and business leadership

Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in procurement within construction or engineering environments
  • Proven experience on large-scale data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, or industrial projects
  • Strong understanding of MEP and CSA procurement for complex projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-value packages and long-lead equipment
  • Excellent commercial awareness and contract negotiation skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership capability
  • Process-driven with a focus on governance, compliance, and risk management
  • EU passport or right to work in Portugal required
